The session will start with a deep dive into the Supreme Court ruling\, harassment liability\, and pay gap readiness\, followed by a Q and A session.  \nHere are the three areas we will be exploring:  \nSupreme Court ruling: Presented by Michelle Daltry\, Principal Consultant   \nIn this session\, Michelle will share the details of the Supreme Court ruling and touch on the guidance released by the EHRC to date. She will then explore the implications for employers\, sharing some of the challenges that our members and clients have had to navigate and how we have helped them. Michelle will close by sharing our key recommendations for employers.   \nHarassment liability: Presented by Rosie Clarke\, Principal Consultant   \nWith last year’s implantation of the Prevent Duty through the Worker Protection Act 2023 (Amendment of Equality Act 2010)\, and the Employment Rights Bill’s proposed expansion of the duty to all characteristics (expected to come into force by the end of 2025)\, employer liability for harassment is transforming at pace.  \nIn this session\, Rosie will explore and clarify the changes to harassment liability over the last year\, and those we can expect to see next. She will share best practices and our recommendations for practitioners to help them be prepared for the new changes.   \nPay gap readiness: Presented by Dr Emily Pattinson\, Lead Consultant   \nWe expect disability and ethnicity pay gap reporting to become mandatory in 2027. Unlike gender pay gap\, there will be a requirement for employers to collect the data necessary to produce this reporting. With early indicators suggesting those who can’t report due to lack of data could face enforcement action or penalties\, now is the time to step up (or start) your pay gap readiness plans.   \nIn this session\, Emily will explore the data that will be required and share some of the key approaches and challenges around data readiness. Each event will focus on one of Inclusive Employers’ six pillars of inclusion – Engage\, Equip\, Empower\, Embed\, Evaluate and Evolve. The pillars give the accreditation the framework to measure inclusion success. \nWe will be joined by guest speakers to share best practice case studies and learn more about our Inclusive Employers Standard. \nThis webinar is hosted by Emily Pattinson\, Senior Inclusive Employers Standard Programme Lead from Inclusive Employers. \nEmily has many years’ experience working in diversity and inclusion across many sectors. DESCRIPTION:Topic: Exploring inclusion opportunities and challenges in the local government sector \nThe Local Government sector is facing a time of unprecedented change.  Alongside a shifting political landscape and increased financial pressure and a focus on achieving greater efficiency\, it is also preparing for devolution and other regulatory changes. This is against a backdrop of an enhanced focus on meeting the needs of communities\, tackling economic regeneration and an emphasis on engaging with the workforce and initiatives to improve internal culture. \nThis event is an opportunity for all our members but particular those form local government and adjacent sectors to come together to focus inclusion challenges and opportunities for the sector. \nOur member community events are spaces for members to connect with each other\, to share their thinking on particular topical issues\, explore challenges and solutions together to broaden our collective knowledge and understanding and leverage opportunities for positive change. \nPlease note this a member to member discussion forum facilitated by one of our Principle Consultants\, Debbie Epstein\, so please be ready to share your ideas and thoughts as part of the conversation. \nPlease note: this is a Members-Only event which has limited capacity.
